An original artwork is a unique creation and the result of years of dedicated art practice. Ballard pours her heart and soul into every brushstroke of her work. Colour will always be the driving force behind the style she calls ‘Fragmatism’.

She is inspired by the atmospheric dance of colour and light in natural spaces. Be it a landscape or a still life subject, the atmosphere created can have many moods. There is a transient energy that vibrates throughout these spaces and this is what she aims to capture to canvas. 

This colour quest is how her style ‘Fragmatism’, was born. Be it a seascape or a quiet little still life, it is the language I use to capture magic moments. To reveal those places and spaces often overlooked and forgotten. Through the process of deconstructed shape and reconstructed colour she gives them the spotlight.
